The Gasman on Pearl Jam Radio

Pearl Jam Radio
Gas is now fulfilling a life long dream of working in the rock and roll business. Given he has exactly zero musical talent and even less rhythm he had to find a back door into the biz and he’s accomplished that by working for Pearl Jam Radio on Sirius XM.

Gas is a regular contributor to the channel. His job is to seek out interesting folks who are into Pearl Jam and into sports. To date he has done interviews with former Seattle Sounders and Team USA GK Kasey Keller, Chicago White Sox slugger Paul Konerko, Oakland A’s infielder Adam Rosales, singer, songwriter, actor, and huge baseball fan Steve Earle, veteran Seattle musician and Macklemore pal Michael Wansley, New York Yankees infielder/outfielder Lyle Overbay, Seattle Seahawks guard John Moffitt and others.

  • Earlier this year, Gas spent an hour visiting with Joe Nathan of the Texas Rangers. One of the best closers in MLB history, Joe is also a huge Pearl Jam fan. Here’s the interview as it originally aired on Pearl Jam Radio.

The first one is free but if you want more here’s a link the PJ Radio page with subscription information.

The Chicago White Sox slugger has over 2000 hits and 400 homers in his brilliant career. He was one of the leaders on Chicago’s 2005 World Series champion team. He is also a huge Pearl Jam fan (but only because of his wife, Jennifer). Get details on that story as well as the story of Paul scaling a fence to get OUT of a Pearl Jam concert in Los Angeles and hear all of his favorite Pearl Jam songs in this hour long conversation. Bonus baseball nugget: Paul has an outstanding anecdote about the legendary dust-up between Nolan Ryan and Robin Ventura.

    Re-airs: Thursday 6/27 at 7am PST, Sat 6/29 at 5am PST, Sun 6/30 at 5pm PST

The pride of Trail, British Columbia is a 3 time MLB All Star. He was 14 when “Ten” came out and has been on board the Pearl Jam train ever since. He has the distinction of being the subject of a political discussion during a Pearl Jam show in Pittsburgh. He also has seen the band perform exactly ONE song live. In 2009 he became an American citizen. He’ll discuss all these stories and play his favorite Pearl Jam songs.
